Extended winter holidays: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa schools to remain closed until January 7

primary schools closed in Punjab

WEB DESK: Winter vacations for students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have been further extended. The education department issued a notification, announcing the closure of all public and private schools until Sunday, January 7, 2024.

As per the notification, educational institutions will remain closed in Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera, Dera Ismail Khan, and surrounding areas. The extension of school holidays in KP is attributed to teacher election training and the prevailing cold weather conditions.

Schools that were initially scheduled to reopen on Monday, January 1, will now resume classes on Monday, January 8, according to the latest information.

Contrary to the earlier announcement, which indicated that educational institutions in the plains of the province, including Peshawar, would open as usual on January 1, 2024, the revised schedule reflects the extended closure.

The Education Department has instructed that all schools in the province will observe an additional winter vacation from January 1 to January 9.

Institutes are directed to adhere to the procedures related to the winter vacation and resume the teaching process on January 10.
