ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Education has issued a notification announcing the end of the Saturday holiday for public educational institutions.
This applies to all schools, whether urban or rural, and regardless of whether they are for girls or boys. The official notification also indicates that the Saturday holiday for colleges in Islamabad has been abolished.
According to the notification released by the Federal Directorate of Education, all schools and educational institutions are to adhere to this new schedule. The decision to eliminate the Saturday holiday has been made in light of the need for extra classes and sports activities.
Here is the official notification concerning the discontinuation of Saturday as a school holiday in Islamabad:
Starting from August 10, 2024, public educational institutions under the federal government will no longer observe a holiday on Saturdays. The notification stipulates that all staff members are expected to attend work according to the regular hours.
It is mandated that both teaching and non-teaching staff ensure their presence at their respective institutions. Heads of all educational institutions are required to ensure strict compliance with these new guidelines.
