Pakistan railways to run special trains for Sikh and Hindu Pilgrims

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has announced plans to operate special trains for Sikh and Hindu pilgrims during the upcoming pilgrimage season.

According to sources, the trains will facilitate the journeys of Sikh pilgrims traveling to Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev, and Hindu pilgrims visiting the revered Sadhu Bela Temple in Rohri.

Sikh Pilgrimage trains

The sources indicate that a special train carrying Sikh pilgrims will depart from Karachi on November 23, bound for Nankana Sahib.

The train will depart from Karachi at 10:00 am and will arrive in Nankana Sahib, approximately 620 kms away, later that day.

After a five-day stay the special train will embark on its return journey from Nankana Sahib to Karachi on November 28. This return train will depart Nankana Sahib at 3:00 pm and is expected to reach Karachi the following day.

Hindu Pilgrimage trains

Pakistan Railways will also operate a special train from Larkana to Rohri, home to the revered Sadhu Bela Temple.

As per the sources, the train will depart Larkana on November 23, and will arrive in Rohri later that day. The return journey, from Rohri back to Larkana, will commence on November 28.
