PM vows to strengthen labor welfare on International Labour Day

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to strengthen labor welfare and align domestic labor laws with international standards.

He made these affirmations of the government’s dedication to supporting workers’ rights while speaking on International Labour Day today (Wednesday). He paid tribute to the workers who have made significant sacrifices in their fight for rights.

PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of enhancing occupational safety and health across various sectors, stating that it remains a top priority for the government. He announced plans to convene the first National Tripartite Labour Conference, with a particular focus on safety and health initiatives.

Acknowledging the essential role played by workers in driving Pakistan’s progress, the Prime Minister lauded their tireless efforts in fields, factories, and other sectors to provide for their families.

He assured continued efforts to improve working and living conditions, promising advancements in housing, education, healthcare, and social security benefits for workers.
