Police raid wrong flat in Karachi, arrest two family members

KARACHI: In a startling incident, the police investigation department mistakenly raided the wrong flat and arrested two family members at Ahsanabad Apartments in Karachi.
According to details, the Site Super Highway police were conducting a raid to evict residents from a flat. However, they mistakenly targeted the wrong unit, which was rented by a local teacher.

The family reported that the police officers forcibly removed their belongings, damaged their beds and other furniture. Two family members were taken to the police station after being beaten, leaving an 80-year-old woman and her three daughters stranded outside in the dark.
Police officials later acknowledged their error, stating that their intended target was actually on the third floor, not the second. Although the family was allowed to return to their flat, the police refused to compensate for the damaged items.
The family also alleged that the police officers threatened them, warning against disclosing details of the incident, or face severe consequences.
PDMA forecasts intense heat wave in Punjab from next week
An investigation has been launched into the incident, and the Special Investigation Officer (SIO) has promised that the officers responsible will face disciplinary action for their mistake. Additionally, the SIO warned of legal action against the complainant for providing false information. – INP
