PPP candidate Akhunzada Chattan’s vehicle targeted in Mamund

BAJAUR: The vehicle of Akhunzada Chattan, a candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for by-elections in the NA-8 constituency, Bajaur, was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Mamund area.

Despite being bombproof, the vehicle sustained severe damage. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported at this time, according to the police, Khorasan Diary reported.

According to the bomb disposal squad, a motorcycle rigged with explosives was found parked at the roadside.

As investigations continue, security concerns remain high during the by-election in Bajaur.

Akhunzada Chattan is a leader of the PPP from Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was formerly the president of the FATA Political Alliance, which campaigned for the rights of the people of former Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
