Rain, thunderstorms forecasted across various regions today

WEB DESK: Chance of rain with strong winds and thunder is forecasted for parts of Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper and Central Punjab, Islamabad, and Northeast Balochistan.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience hot and humid weather, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Going region by region, Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to have prevailing hot and humid conditions with a possibility of gusty winds and thundershowers during the morning and night hours.

In Punjab, regions such as Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, and Bhakkar can expect rain with strong winds and thundershowers. Furthermore, in Multan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan, a similar weather pattern is anticipated. Additionally, heavy rain is expected in Murree, Guliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Mianwali, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and Hafizabad.

Moving towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Malakand, Mohmand, Khyber, Bajaur, Charsadda, Peshawar, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Waziristan, DI Khan, and Bannu.

In Sindh, most districts will be cloudy, says PMD, adding that light rain is also possible in coastal areas of the province.

In Balochistan, the weather will remain hot and humid across most districts, with strong winds and thundershowers expected in Kalat, Khuzdar, Musa Khel, Qila Saifullah, Laura Lai, Bolan, Nasirabad, Jafarabad, Dera Bugti, and Barkhan during the evening and night hours. Some places may also experience heavy rain.

In Kashmir, rain with strong winds and thunder is expected, with heavy rain likely in a few areas. Gilgit-Baltistan, on the other hand, will remain hot and dry, with partly cloudy skies.
