Session held at UoP on policy reform in newly merged districts

PESHAWAR: National Influencers – a think tank based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held a discussion on the policy reform in the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs).
The discussion centered around a research report titled “Institutional Transplantation and Reconfiguration of Incentive Structures: A Case of NMDs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.” The session was held at the Department of Political Science of the University of Peshawar (UoP).
Department of Political Science Chairperson Dr Shahida Aman applauded the initiative, underscoring the importance of such engagements in shaping public policy. The event brought together academics, community leaders, policymakers, and students to discuss the challenges and opportunities for policy reforms in the NMDs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The report, developed through rigorous research, highlights critical areas where institutional transformation and reconfiguration can lead to more effective governance and improved socio-economic outcomes in the region.
Political Science Professor Dr Dervaish Khan outlined the main insights as identified by the research report. He highlighted the importance of incentive structures in institutional reforms.
The participants also engaged in dynamic discussions, sharing perspectives on the implications of the findings for policy and practice. The event served as a platform to bridge academia, community stakeholders, and policymakers for a shared vision of progress in the newly merged districts.
National Influencers President Muhammad Sulaiman stated, “This session represents a significant step towards fostering collaboration among key stakeholders to address the pressing issues in the NMDs. We believe that evidence-based policy recommendations can pave the way for sustainable development in the region.”
