Six arrested for stealing livestock worth Rs. 20 million

KARACHI: Six suspects have been arrested for stealing livestock valued at Rs. 20 million, according to the police.

 According to SSP East Farrukh Habib, a merchant from RahimYar Khan had brought a truck load of sacrifice animals to Karachi for sale. A deal to purchase the animals was made at the Northern Bypass livestock market where the suspects agreed to purchase 41 animals.

The suspects initially paid a token amount of Rs. 400,000 and transported the livestock to Al-Azam Square.

However, the suspects then drew weapons and forcibly removed the traders from their vehicles. They fled with the livestock and housed them at a nearby cattle pen.

The SITE Superhighway police were alerted, prompting the SHO and his team to respond quickly. The police managed to arrest the suspects and recovered 35 calves from their possession

Interrogation of the arrested suspects is currently underway to uncover further details.
