WEB DESK: As a result of the recent spell of rain in several parts of the country, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has raised alarms over the looming threat of flooding in various regions, including Dir, Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Kohistan, and Kashmir.

This warning comes in anticipation of moderate to heavy rainfall expected from tonight (April 28) until April 29. Concurrently, the PMD has highlighted the heightened risk of landslides in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, owing to the forecasted heavy downpours.

Apart from these warnings, the PMD predicts Sunday’s weather to be wet for the better part of the country. For Islamabad and its surrounding areas, Sunday is expected to bring intermittent thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall, with isolated instances of hailstorms.

Meanwhile, Punjab is bracing for widespread rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms across numerous districts, including Murree, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Faisalabad. Hailstorms are predicted to occur at select locations such as Bhakkar and Leh.

Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, significant rainfall, thunderstorms, and isolated hail are forecasted in districts like Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, and DI Khan, with heavy downpours expected in upper districts.

Sindh, on the other hand, is projected to remain hot and dry in most areas, although strong and dusty winds are anticipated during the afternoon.
