Accused in Islamabad Club assault case ‘forgiven’ by family

ISLAMABAD: The man accused of sexually assaulting the daughter of a civil servant at Islamabad Club has been forgiven by the victim’s family.
According to family sources, the decision to forgive the assailant was influenced by powerful individuals holding high offices in Islamabad, who intervened to resolve the matter.
Three new sexual assault cases surface at Islamabad Club
The accused, described as a man of considerable influence, managed to escape legal repercussions after securing a pardon from the victim’s family. Sources close to the situation revealed that officials from one of the top offices in the capital played a crucial role in brokering the agreement between the two parties.
The incident, which sparked public outrage, has been the subject of intense scrutiny. As per sources, some high-ranking officials visited the victim’s family, where discussions led to an agreement. During this visit, the accused, accompanied by his father and other elders, offered an unconditional apology to the family, which was ultimately accepted.
Earlier, Hum Investigation Team had reported that three harrowing sexual assault cases recently surfaced at Islamabad Club, according to officials. Despite the perpetrators being found guilty, these powerful men have seemingly escaped justice, raising serious concerns about accountability.
Islamabad police investigate high-profile sexual assault case
Among the accused are two recently retired federal secretaries who allegedly assaulted women at Islamabad Club a few months ago. In another incident, a retired military officer allegedly sexually assaulted a young woman at the Club.
These cases, thoroughly investigated by the Club administration, reveal a disturbing pattern of sexual harassment and assault. The officials did not mince words, acknowledging that these men openly harassed and assaulted women at the Club.
