UAE enforces penalties for anti-Pakistan Army propaganda

The United Arab Emirates has announced severe measures against individuals who disseminate false information and propaganda about the Pakistan Army.

The UAE Consul General in Karachi cautioned expatriates in the UAE and Gulf countries to exercise caution. He emphasised that it is unacceptable to spread misinformation about the country and its institutions on social media platforms.

Internet services disrupted across country; reasons unknown

The dissemination of false rumours is strictly forbidden, with violators facing immediate repercussions. Several individuals have already been handed life sentences, while others have received 14-year prison terms and have been expelled from the country.

Furthermore, the Consul General reminded the public that social media activity, including likes and shares, remains on one’s account history. This history will be scrutinised during visa applications, and individuals with problematic pasts will be denied entry.
