Vote recount in PS-115 Karachi finalised following PPP candidate appeal

KARACHI: Recounting of votes in Karachi’s PS-115 constituency has concluded early on Thursday. PS-115 is a provincial assembly constituency situated in the Keamari district of Karachi.
Initially, independent candidate Shah Nawaz Jadoon was declared the winner with 20,609 votes, while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Asif Khan trailed closely with 18,939 votes.
The returning officer (RO) overseeing the constituency confirmed that the recount was conducted at the request of Asif Khan. “A decision regarding the outcome of the recount is expected soon”, the RO said.

In the 2018 general election, Shah Nawaz Jadoon won from the same constituency with 18,691 votes on a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) party ticket, with PPP’s Humayun Muhammad Khan finishing as the runner-up with 14,967 votes.
ECP declares PML-N candidate winner of NA-120 Lahore
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday declared Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as the victor in Lahore’s NA-120 constituency having securing 68,143 votes.
NA-120 has traditionally been considered a PML-N stronghold. In the 2018 general election, PML-N candidate Ali Pervaiz Malik won a seat from the constituency with 113,265 votes. Similarly, Malik clinched a seat in the national assembly from the same constituency during the 2013 general election as well.
