Weather update: Isolated thunderstorm predicted for twin cities

ISLAMABAD: Isolated thunderstorm has been predicted for the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi during the next 12 hours while dry weather will prevail across most parts of the country, according to the weather update provided by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the met office, rain is also predicted for the upper parts of the country including upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir

The PMD providing weather update has predicted dry weather across most parts of the country, with rain expected in certain northern regions including the twin cities.

Rain is also predicted in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Mandi Bahauddin, along with Jhelum, Murree, and the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Dir, Haripur, Abbottabad, and Mansehra could experience thunderstorms.

Sindh, however, will remain hot and dry, with no significant weather changes expected. The PMD has advised residents in the affected areas to stay cautious during potential thunderstorms.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz noted that there’s less chance of rain in October and November. Predicting the arrival of winter, the weather expert said that there is no possibility of more than normal cold in the whole country.

He remarked that Islamabad and northern areas have started witnessing some cold at night, signalling the commencement of pre-winter period.

Temperatures of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad sixteen, Lahore twenty-four, Karachi twenty-five, Peshawar and Muzaffarabad eighteen, Quetta and Murree fourteen and Gilgit thirteen degrees centigrade.
