ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday adjourned hearing in a case seeking the removal of Imran Khan as chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
A five-member bench led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja heard the case filed by a citizen named Khalid Mahmood.
The case seeks Khan’s removal as head of his party since the Commission has already disqualified him from holding public office after an accountability court found him guilty of corrupt practices in the Toshakhana case.
Plea filed with ECP to remove caretaker PM
Khan’s lawyers were supposed to submit their reply in the case on Tuesday. However, they asked for more time to submit the reply after which the case was adjourned till December 5.
