LAHORE: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held important meetings on Tuesday with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, amid rising tensions with India and concerns over the situation in Palestine.
According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, Naqvi visited Maulana and inquired about his health and conveyed his best wishes.
The other meeting with JI chief was held at Mansoorah, where senior Jamaat leader Liaqat Baloch was also present.
During these meetings, Naqvi briefed both leaders on Pakistan’s principled stance over India’s recent unilateral and provocative actions, said Interior Ministry in a statement received here.
He also shared updates on the decisions taken by the National Security Committee (NSC), assuring them of the government’s resolve to safeguard national interests.
According to the ministry’s statement, both Maulana and Hafiz Naeem expressed strong support for Pakistan’s position and condemned India’s aggressive posturing.
“Narendra Modi is an enemy of Muslims,” Maulana said, adding, “Wherever Islam and Muslims are challenged, Modi will be found standing on the opposite side.”

Meanwhile, Hafiz Naeem told Naqvi that the nation is united on the issue of India and called on the Indian government to reflect on its actions. “The regime that has killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Kashmiris must be held accountable,” he said.
Naqvi warned that India was “playing with fire” and declared that Pakistan would respond to any aggression with full strength. “Our brave armed forces are fully prepared to defend the homeland,” he said.
He accused India of deliberately attempting to disrupt regional peace through conspiracies, but said Pakistan’s political and religious leadership was united against any such adventurism.
