PHILADELPHIA: Brazil delivered a more convincing performance in their 3-0 victory over Haiti, offering supporters an encouraging glimpse of Carlo Ancelotti’s tactical vision as the team recovered from a disappointing draw against Morocco in their opening Group C match.

While Haiti’s attacking approach left gaps that Brazil were able to exploit, the Brazil displayed greater cohesion than they had in their previous outing. The result marked a positive step forward for Ancelotti, who made key adjustments to his lineup in search of a more balanced attack.

One of the most influential changes was the introduction of Matheus Cunha, whose presence added energy to Brazil’s forward play. The striker linked effectively with Vinicius Jr and Lucas Paqueta, helping create a stronger connection between midfield and attack.

Paqueta, who faced criticism for his display against Morocco, looked far more comfortable in a deeper midfield role. His improved performance, combined with Cunha’s movement and Vinicius’ attacking threat, gave Brazil a more dangerous edge, particularly down the left flank where all three players combined effectively.

The match also provided the clearest indication yet of Ancelotti’s preferred diamond midfield system. Brazil moved the ball with greater confidence and created more opportunities through short passing combinations, something that had been lacking in recent performances.

Despite the positive signs, concerns remain. Raphinha struggled to influence the game for a second consecutive match and was forced off after appearing uncomfortable throughout the contest. The winger had reportedly dealt with fitness issues earlier in the week and never appeared fully sharp.

Questions also persist regarding the team’s defensive balance. Veteran midfielder Casemiro faces a tougher test against stronger opposition, while Bruno Guimaraes could be deployed deeper in future matches to provide additional stability and improve Brazil’s buildup play.

With uncertainty surrounding Raphinha’s availability for the upcoming clash against Scotland, Luiz Henrique is emerging as a potential replacement after other attacking options failed to make a significant impact.

Although the win was far from a complete performance, Brazil showed noticeable improvement and offered fresh optimism that Ancelotti’s ideas are beginning to take shape as the tournament progresses.
