PESHAWAR: Preparations for by-elections across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have reached their final stages as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) confirms the completion of arrangements for contests on two provincial and two national assembly seats.

Over 224,000 registered voters are set to cast their ballots in the PK-91 Kohat constituency in the elections scheduled for April 21.

The polling scheme outlines the allocation of resources, with 168 polling stations earmarked for PK-91, catering to both male and female voters. Additionally, 87 joint polling stations have been established to streamline the voting process.

A heated contest is anticipated in PK-91 Kohat, with 15 candidates vying for victory in the upcoming by-election.

Moving to PK-22 Bajaur, where 178,000 registered voters, comprising 98,000 men and 79,700 women, are gearing up to participate. A total of 91 polling stations have been designated for this constituency, hosting 13 candidates.

Meanwhile, in NA-8 Bajaur, nearly 672,000 registered voters, including 368,000 men and 304,000 women, are poised to exercise their democratic right. With seven candidates in contention, the constituency will have 366 polling stations, along with 344 joint polling stations.

Nawaz Sharif gets clean chit in Toshakhana case

In NA-44 D I Khan, a significant turnout is expected from 396,000 registered voters, consisting of 211,000 men and 185,000 women. To facilitate the voting process, 358 polling stations have been arranged, supplemented by 117 joint polling stations.

Among the notable contenders in this constituency is Faisal Amin, brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
