The Kings began their campaign with a strong performance but faltered in their second match. “We played the first match well, but didn’t play the second match well”, he stated, acknowledging the inconsistency plaguing the team.
The pressure intensified after the early dismissals of key players, David Warner and James Vince. “After David Warner and James Vince were out, we came under pressure”, he explained.
A significant factor in the team’s defeat was the inability to form effective partnerships. “The partnerships could not be formed which led to failure”.
Hassan Ali pointed out that Khushdil Shah had performed admirably in the first match, but the lack of a solid partnership in the subsequent game hindered their efforts.
Ali also addressed the role of franchises in attracting spectators to the stadium, suggesting that they should take proactive measures to improve fan engagement. “Franchises should also play their role to bring spectators to the stadium”, he remarked.
On the topic of criticism directed at players, the vice-captain expressed a nuanced perspective. “Criticism is not a bad thing but it should not be personal”, he stated. “As professionals, we also feel sorry for such criticism. If the criticism is for improvement, we do not feel [bad]”, he added.
Hassan Ali took the opportunity to defend teammate, Babar Azam, hyping his value to the team. “Babar Azam was the best, if the best and has come out of difficult times. He will definitely come out”. The Karachi Kings player stated that Babar was a product of the team and deserved time to regain his form. “Babar was made a king by us and we are behind him”.
