KARTARPUR: India denied permission for their kabaddi team to travel to Pakistan on Thursday, following their earlier decision to deny the Indian cricket team from competing in the Champions Trophy which will be hosted by Pakistan in 2025.
Three matches had been planned with the first set for November 19 at Kartarpur, and the next two taking place on November 21 and November 23 in Lahore and Bahawalpur respectively.
Speaking to media, the Secretary of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation stated that “The decision is disappointing, as we had arranged a dedicated training camp and invested efforts to host an exciting series for fans on both sides.”
The decision puts other sporting events in question, such as the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup which is set to kick off later this month in Lahore. The Indian team is still awaiting clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs, despite being granted a no objection certificate from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
