Injury rules out Ihsanullah for entire PSL season


Ihsanullah has been ruled out of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9, dealing a blow to the Multan Sultans team.

LAHORE: Pakistan’s fast bowler Ihsanullah will not play in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 due to an injury, announced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday.

Ihsanullah showcased remarkable performance the eighth iteration of the PSL by securing the second-highest number of wickets – 22 wickets.

However, he soon experienced elbow discomfort post-tournament, eventually necessitating surgery.

Multan Sultans now have to rethink their strategy for the ninth season of the PSL given their other fast bowler, England’s Rees Topley will also be unavailable for the season.

The English bowler was prevented from participating due to non-issuance of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the England Cricket Board (ECB).

PSL season 9 will be played across in four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The final match will be in Karachi on March 18.

PSL season 9 will have 14 matches from February 17 to February 27.
