Sajid and Noman take five before Lunch in decider against England

Sajid

RAWALPINDI: Noman Ali and Sajid Khan continued to impress for Pakistan, taking five wickets between them before breaking for Lunch on Thursday.

SAJID KHAN

Sajid Khan took three wickets, beginning with Ollie Pope in the 19th over. The delivery hit the front pad and the wicket was given by the umpire. Pope reviewed, but to his dismay ball tracking showed that the leg stump would have been taken out. It was the third time in a row that Sajid took out Pope, who has been struggling in the series so far. His highest score was 29 in England’s first innings of the second test.

Joe Root, England’s leading test run scorer would be dismissed in the 21st over with another lbw. Ball tracking revealed it would be the middle stump that would have been in trouble if not for Root’s pads. He was dismissed for only five runs.

And so was Harry Brook as Sajid finally made direct contact with the stump’s following a couple failed sweep attempts from the English batter, taking out leg. Another vital wicket, as Brook has seen a fair amount of success against Pakistan, including a triple century in the first test.

NOMAN ALI

Noman would strike first, dismissing England opener Zac Crawley in the 14th over after he found an edge that sent he ball high to gully. Saim Ayub took the catch, securing the first wicket after England had made 51 runs, 29 of which came from Crawley.

Noman would get his second wicket in the 26th over. He would dismiss Ben Duckett, a vital wicket as the English batsman was beginning to find his rhythm, already having scored a half century. A low bounce delivery ended up hitting Duckett on the pad, and the umpire immediately raised his finger.
