TRINIDAD: The West Indies clinched the One-Day International (ODI) series decider after bundling out the Men in Green for just 92 runs while chasing a target of 294/6. Jayden Seales and Captain Shai Hope were named player of the series and player of the match, respectively.
Pakistan’s hopes of a successful chase quickly faded as their batting lineup collapsed under pressure in the West Indies ODI final.
Led by Mohammad Rizwan, the national team struggled to gain momentum after losing key wickets early on. West Indies skipper Shai Hope marshaled his bowlers effectively to defend the total.
By the 10th over, Pakistan were reeling at 26 for four, with Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, and Captain Rizwan all falling for ducks. Seasoned batter Babar Azam managed just 9 runs before being dismissed by Seales.
Vice Captain Salman Ali Agha and Hassan Nawaz showed some resistance, however after scoring 30 and 13 respectively, both were dismissed by Gudakesh Motie.
The rest of the batting lineup failed to offer any real support for the team. All-rounder Hussain Talat was dismissed for 1, Mohammad Nawaz remained not out on 23, Naseem Shah scored 6, while Hassan Ali and Abrar Ahmad also fell for ducks.
