WEB DESK: In a recent update, X, formerly known as Twitter, is set to make significant changes to its platform interface, according to owner Elon Musk.
Starting soon, users will notice a shift away from displaying retweet and like counts directly on the homepage.
Instead, these metrics will only be visible when you tap or click on a specific post. The only information available on the main timeline will be the view count.
Musk, who has been actively involved in reshaping Twitter’s image and functionality, announced this change exclusively to his subscribers on X.
The alteration comes amidst a series of divisive updates, including the rebranding of Twitter to X, the introduction of user charges for verification, and the removal of text from shared links on the platform.
PREVIEW: X will remove the interaction counts (likes, reposts) from the main timeline, leaving only view counts. You will be able to see these numbers when you tap into a post.

Critics have voiced concerns about these modifications, suggesting that they might pave the way for an increase in misleading and false content on the site.
A recent EU report highlighted X’s high ratio of disinformation posts among major social media platforms, raising the possibility of fines under the bloc’s stringent new laws on fake news.
