WASHINGTON: A group of doctors from the United States (US) working in Palestine sent a letter to President Joe Biden, calling for urgent action regarding the dire situation in Gaza.
The doctors, who have been on the ground providing voluntary medical aid, expressed that they can no longer remain silent about the “escalating crisis”.

According to the letter, the death toll in Palestine has reached approximately 92,000. The doctors demanded an immediate end to hostilities and urged the Biden administration to address the humanitarian crisis.
More than 45 US doctors are currently volunteering their services in the region, and they report being fully aware of the severe conditions faced by the Palestinians.
The letter detailed the challenges faced by journalists in Gaza, noting that only local Palestinian journalists have access to the area, while foreign journalists are largely restricted. The lack of external coverage has compounded the difficulties in understanding and addressing the full scope of the crisis.
The US doctors also drew attention to the suffering of Palestinian children, who they say are enduring significant harm and torture. The lefter stated that the letter is not just a plea for their own safety but a call for global attention to the suffering of the Palestinian population.

The doctors’ letter revealed their frustration with the ongoing conflict and the adverse impact on innocent civilians, particularly children. They argued that the rulers of the region have created severe hardships for the impoverished population, and urged “immediate intervention”.
