Energy in focus: PM to leave for Azerbaijan today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif along with his key team members are set to leave on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan from today for a focused discussion on cooperation in energy sector.
The visit is reportedly being undertaken at the invitation of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev. Prime Minister will hold wide-ranging talks with President Ilham Aliyev on key areas of cooperation including trade, investment with a major focus on energy according to sources.
Last month, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov met Pakistan’s Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik following which the former took to twitter to say the topics under discussion included “the potential expansion of cooperation in the fields of energy, transit-logistics and industry.”
