WEB DESK: In the global motorcycle industry, advancements and upgrades are essential for better performance. However, in Pakistan, this aspect seems to be lacking.
It’s common knowledge that many local motorcycle manufacturers stick to selling the same bike models for years on end.
In Pakistan, motorcycle companies have been making only superficial changes to their bike models for some time now.
These changes usually involve minor tweaks like new stickers or designs, rather than substantial improvements in functionality. Even when new models are introduced, they often only differ in appearance.
To put it simply, when a motorcycle company launches a new model in Pakistan, it usually just means a new paint job and stickers.
Recently, Atlas Honda hinted at a similar minor change through a social media post. They announced an upgrade to the race cone set in the Honda CD 70, promising users a better handling experience and improved driving performance.
However, it’s worth noting that despite this upgrade, the bike’s appearance remains almost unchanged for the past 24 years, even though its price is nearly Rs160,000.
This raises the question: Will motorcycle companies in Pakistan ever break away from this trend?
It seems that motorcycle companies in the country prefer to make only small improvements to their bikes and rely on cosmetic changes, all while increasing their prices.
It’s as if they believe that simply updating the appearance with a new paint job and stickers is enough to attract consumers.
