WEB DESK: In a significant development, the Election Commission has issued firm instructions to all Provincial Election Commissioners and Returning Officers to expedite the release of election results.

The directive came from the Chief Election Commissioner, who has set a stringent half-hour deadline for the Returning Officers (ROs) to disclose the results.

The Chief Election Commissioner emphasized the importance of timely dissemination of election outcomes, stating that failure to release all results within the specified timeframe would lead to strict actions against both Election Returning Officers (EROs) and Provincial Election Commissioners.

This stern approach underscores the Election Commission’s commitment to transparency and efficiency in the electoral process. The Chief Election Commissioner highlighted that delays in result announcements can undermine the credibility of the electoral system and erode public trust.

However, it is noteworthy that the Election Commission itself has not officially released any results at this time. Media channels have been reporting unofficial results from their sources, but the Election Commission has not confirmed these outcomes.

The move to set a strict deadline for result announcements reflects the Election Commission’s determination to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and ensure a fair and transparent election.

The implementation of this directive is anticipated to streamline the reporting process and provide timely and accurate information to the public.
