ISLAMABAD: Ending all speculations surrounding his whereabouts, Azam Khan, the former principal secretary of ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) today.
A day prior to his appearance, Azam Khan, who had been missing since June 15, resurfaced at his home after an alleged confession attributed to him surfaced on social media.
In a significant development, the former PM’s aide reportedly “recorded” a statement before a magistrate, dismissing the US cypher as a “conspiracy” employed by the ex-PM to “manipulate the narrative against the establishment and opposition.”
Reacting to the statement, a spokesperson from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) pointed out that Azam Khan’s disappearance still raised doubts about the veracity of his statement.

The development took a new turn on Friday when Azam Khan put an end to all speculations by presenting himself before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for questioning. His appearance is in connection to the £190 million settlement case, which revolves around the alleged transfer of multi-million pounds from the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA). In this case, PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are also facing accusations.
Sources reveal that Azam Khan recorded his statement before the Joint Investigation team during his appearance at the NAB. The investigation into the case is expected to progress further with his statement on record.
