Bilawal demands judicial commission to probe May 9 incidents

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has demanded the formation of a judicial commission headed by the chief justice to investigate May 9 incidents.
Expressing his views in the National Assembly session, Bilawal Bhutto said that the other day, Mahmood Achakzai suggested passing a resolution banning interference in politics. “You can pass as many resolutions as you want, but until the politicians themselves respect each other, no one else will do it,” he said.
Bilawal said in reference to the events of May 9, “I have heard that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister Chief Ali Amin Gandapur has demanded an inquiry into May 9 events. The KP chief minister should ensure that everyone will accept the decision of the inquiry, then I support it.”
He demanded from the prime minister that a judicial commission be formed to probe the May 9 events and a request be made to the chief justice to head the commission.
While talking about cipher that its comparison with Bhutto, the PPP chairman said: “Bhutto had said that I will die keeping the secrets of the country in my chest.” He continued, “The next day after Imran Khan’s arrest, cipher’s was published in an international publication. Do you think the people of Pakistan are fools?
Cipher’s investigations should be done. The constitution is for everyone; if anyone violates the constitution, he should be punished. I am the grandson of the one who accepted the gallows but did not compromise on his principles.”
During Bilawal’s speech, the opposition members stood in front of the government dice and kept chanting slogans.
Bilawal, addressing the opposition, said that they are cursing and he was saying that he will defend them. “If they have any legitimate complaint, I will stand with them. But if they do unconstitutional and undemocratic work, I will stand in front of them.”
He said, “We have to make such decisions that will strengthen this House and brighten the future of the country. The people of Pakistan have made such a decision that you will have to make decisions together. The people of Pakistan are sending a message that they are tired of our fights.”
The former foreign minister said that the people are suffering from poverty, inflation, and unemployment. “The people did not give a majority to any one party. The people did not vote so that they come here and abuse each other. If you have been voted, then it is to save the people from an economic crisis. The prices of commodities are increasing with each passing day but the income is not increasing. We have made some decisions in the past that today our people and economy are in trouble. Everyone is inviting you to sit together and get Pakistan out of this trouble. You support us on this matter.”
