Chairlift mishap: Eight children stuck midair in Battagram

BATTAGRAM – A chairlift transporting schoolchildren became immobilized midair due to a rope malfunction in Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Eight schoolchildren, accompanied by their teacher, found themselves marooned in a cable car within Battagram’s Allai tehsil on Tuesday.

Authorities reported that the incident transpired at 8 AM as the students were en route to school. This unfortunate event left them suspended at an elevation of 1,500 feet.

Present at the scene, Mufti Gulamullah, the Chairman of Tehsil Allai, conveyed that the stranded students and their teachers remained suspended within the chairlift in Battagram’s Tehsil Allai.

Regrettably, no efforts have been initiated to effectuate the rescue of these individuals.

Audible calls for assistance emanate from those ensnared in midair, while rescue sources have indicated that a helicopter intervention is requisite for the successful retrieval of the stranded parties.
