PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Friday said the provincial government will seek “direct public consent” to identify and address key issues ahead of the 2026-27 budget.

Addressing a provincial cabinet meeting via video link, the chief minister said the initiative comes at a time when the federal government is not cooperating with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership in both the province and across the country.

He said the government will directly engage citizens across the province, with district deputy commissioners sharing a link through their official Facebook pages. Residents will be able to submit the key issues they are facing in their respective areas.

The public consultation process will remain open from May 4 to May 8, Afridi added.

He expressed hope that citizens will actively participate in the initiative, saying it will help the government better identify areas needing improvement.
