Court directs Qureshi, Umar to be made part of May 9 probe

Lahore: An anti-terrorism court on Friday directed that PTI vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and former secretary general Asad Umar be made part of the investigation into May 9 incident.

ATC court judge Ijaz Ahmed was hearing the interim-bail applications filed by Qureshi and Umar.

Both PTI leaders appeared before the court seeking an extension in bail.

The court has granted interim bail to Shah Mahmood and Asad Umar till July 21.

Talking to reporters outside the court, Qureshi said he has met PTI Chairman Imran Khan several times in recent days and dispelled rumours of any differences with him.

He also informed an International Monetary Fund delegation will call on the PTI Chairman today.
