ECP to consult legal experts on SC’s reserved seats verdict

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday decided to consult legal experts on the Supreme Court’s verdict in the reserved seats case.

During a meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the ECP reviewed the Supreme Court’s order of September 14 regarding the reserved seats.

The meeting was attended by officials, including the ECP secretary, the special secretary for law, and other legal team members of the ECP.

The participants went through the legislation regarding the reserved seats in parliament. As the meeting proceeded, legal points and implications were thoroughly examined.

Following the briefing by the legal team, the ECP decided to seek consultation on the reserved seats’ verdict.

Meanwhile, the ECP has scheduled another meeting for Thursday to continue with its deliberations.
