Electricity prices jacked up

ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the electricity prices by Rs 1.24 per unit.

According to the notification, the price of electricity has been raised by Rs 1.24 per unit. This adjustment will be reflected in the bills for the months of July, August, and September.

Additionally, consumers will also face a RS 3.23 FC (Fuel Cost) surcharge per unit. This surcharge has been imposed on electricity consumers as part of the recent adjustments.

The decision to hike electricity prices was authorized by NEPRA in a recent approval granted a few days ago. This increase falls under the quarterly adjustment framework implemented by the regulatory body.
