ISLAMABAD Islamabad High Court on Wednesday reserved its verdict on a petition filed by PTI chairman challenging the “maintainability” of Toshakhana case.
The petition was filed against a decision of the trial court that had declared the Toshakhana case, which was initiated against the former prime minister at the request of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), admissible.
PTI Chairman’s counsel Khawaja Haris informed the court, a single bench comprising Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, that the sessions court announced its verdict without even hearing their arguments.
The counsel said if a high court sends a case back to trial court, it should be referred to a different court instead.
After hearing arguments, the judge reserved his ruling on the plea.
