Ishaq Dar appointed as deputy prime minister

ISLAMABAD: Foreign minister Ishaq Dar has been appointed as the deputy prime minister of the country, a notification issued by the cabinet division read.

A notification was issued on Sunday that Ishaq Dar who holds the portfolio of Foreign Minister in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet, would be the country’s “deputy prime minister”.

“Important announcement, foreign minister Ishaq Dar has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote in a post on ‘X’.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Nusrat Bhutto and Pervaiz Elahi have also served as deputy prime ministers.
