9th Islamabad Literature Festival kicks off at F-9 Park with diverse literary offerings

ISLAMABAD: The much-awaited 9th Islamabad Literature Festival commenced today at the Gandhara Citizen Club in F-9 Park, Islamabad.
Organised by Oxford University Press (OUP), the three-day literary extravaganza, themed ‘People, Planet, Possibilities,’ promises an eclectic mix of activities.
Islamabad Literature Festival’s inaugural day, open to the public, showcased insightful addresses by prominent figures including OUP Managing Director Arshad Saeed Husain, the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Pakistan Jane Marriott, and Getz Pharma Pvt Ltd Managing Director Khalid Mahmood.
Renowned British author and historian Victoria Schofield and eminent Urdu poet Iftikhar Arif delivered captivating keynote speeches. The day culminated in a mesmerising literary performance.

Throughout the Islamabad Literature Festival, attendees can expect engaging discussions, enthralling keynote speeches, book launches, exhibitions, and film screenings.
The festival continues its tradition of celebrating Urdu poetry with a grand mushaira presided over by Iftikhar Arif and a Ghazal Night featuring the legendary Ustad Hamid Ali Khan on the second and third evenings.
Set against the backdrop of the sprawling F-9 Park, the event promises a vibrant literary experience for enthusiasts and scholars alike.
