ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation this afternoon with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, as diplomatic efforts continue under the second phase of the Islamabad Talks framework.
The two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and the need for sustained diplomatic engagement, according to official sources.
Dar emphasised during the conversation that continued dialogue is essential to resolving current issues at the earliest.
He also stressed that such efforts are key to promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact as momentum builds around ongoing diplomatic initiatives linked to the broader US–Iran engagement process being facilitated in Islamabad.
The two foreign ministers also concurred on a planned phone call later today between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reflecting continued high-level coordination amid hopes for progress in wider US–Iran talks.
