Lahore welcomes desperately needed rainfall after night of dense fog

LAHORE: Numerous parts of Lahore received much-needed rainfall on Wednesday around 3 AM following a sudden onset of fog the previous night.

The precipitation was observed in various areas of Lahore, including the Defence Housing Authority, Askari 10, Askari 11, Bedian Road, Avicenna Medical College, Pace Woodlands, Bankers Town, Formanites, State Life Housing, Sui Gas, Barki Road, Green City, Paragon City, Canal Road, and other prominent localities.

It is noteworthy that the preceding night encountered an abrupt emergence of dense fog, leading to significantly reduced visibility. This weather phenomenon resulted in the closure of multiple motorways and disrupted the flow of traffic.

It is anticipated that the rainfall will contribute to the improvement of the air quality index in the’most polluted city,’ offering relief in the smog situation. Additionally, the rain is expected to diminish fog, enhancing visibility after the downpour.
