LONDON: Arsenal took a major step toward the Premier League title with a narrow 1-0 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium, thanks to a late goal from Leandro Trossard.
The win, secured in the 83rd minute, restores Arsenal’s five-point lead at the top of the table and leaves them just two victories away from a first league crown since 2004.
Manchester City, who still have a game in hand, now sit on 74 points compared to Arsenal’s 79 after 36 matches.
With all the WWE holding going on at every corner why does VAR decide the only foul is an outstreched arm btw…I know the league favours The Arse but come on Guys it's supposed to be a contact sport…Raya was weak plain and simple…However it's only West Ham's survival at…

The decisive moment came when Martin Ødegaard slipped a precise pass into Trossard, who calmly finished low past the West Ham goalkeeper to silence the home crowd and send Arsenal fans into celebration.
West Ham thought they had snatched a dramatic equaliser deep into stoppage time when Callum Wilson fired the ball into the net amid chaos in the box. However, after a lengthy VAR review, the goal was disallowed for a foul in the buildup on Arsenal keeper David Raya, leaving the hosts furious and their survival hopes hanging in the balance.

Despite the victory, Arsenal were made to work hard throughout. Trossard struck the woodwork early, while West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen produced several key saves to keep the visitors at bay. William Saliba also saw a close-range effort cleared off the line as Arsenal dominated early chances.
We need to change the rules for set pieces.

The way Arsenal scored most of their goals from set pieces this year should not be allowed.
I grew up with Chelsea scoring a lot from corners without blocking the goalkeeper from reaching the ball.

West Ham grew into the match and came close themselves, with Raya making a vital stop to deny Mateus Fernandes in the second half. However, their inability to convert chances proved costly.
The match also saw Arsenal forced into defensive reshuffles after Ben White went off injured, with Mikel Arteta adjusting his backline in a tense second half.
