NAB issues another arrest warrant for Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has issued arrest warrants for Fawad Chaudhry in another corruption case.

The warrants accused Fawad Chaudhry of corruption and corrupt practices under section 9(a) of NAO 1999 and called for his immediate arrest.

NAB has asked that the accused be presented before the court after arrest for further legal procedures and inquiry.

Fawad Chaudhry had parted ways with the PTI soon after a countrywide crackdown on the party as initiated after the May 9 riots sparked by its chairman Imran Khan’s arrest.

Although Fawad had said at the time that he was “taking a break from politics”, he was seen at the launch ceremony of the Jahangir Khan Tareen-led Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) in June.

However, Fawad has kept quiet on whether he is officially a part of the IPP — which has been joined by several PTI leaders in the aftermath of May 9.
