BANGALORE: The national cricket team is set to participate in a training session tomorrow at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. This session is scheduled to run from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. However, the team had previously decided to rest today by postponing its scheduled practice session.
Following a defeat to India, the team arrived in Bangalore from Ahmedabad on 15th October. They are preparing for their fourth match in the World Cup, which is against Australia on 20th October.
Recent developments have revealed that the sudden postponement of the team’s training was due to health concerns. Several players have reportedly fallen ill with fever, leading the team management to take precautionary measures.
While the management has refrained from naming the affected players, sources confirm that some are suffering from a mild fever. The medical panel has advised these players to rest. It’s worth noting that none of the players are suffering from dengue, though Indian player Shubman Gill recently missed a match due to the illness.
The national team’s leg spinner, Osama Mir, was also reported to have been initially affected by a cold and fever.
In light of these health concerns, the team has decided to resume training with the available players. They are scheduled to practice from 5:30PM to 8:00PM tonight.
Separately, reports indicate that star players Abdullah Shafiq, Zaman Khan, and Shaheen Afridi have also fallen ill, though further details are yet to be confirmed.
