Pakistan-China cultural evening to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations


WEB DESK: Islamabad: A special cultural evening celebrating the completion of 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations will be broadcast across the country tonight, showcasing the deep-rooted historic ties and vibrant heritage of both nations.

The grand event, which took place at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad, was co-organised alongside the Diplomatic Insight Group.

Viewers will be able to watch the recorded proceedings on Pakistan Television (PTV) at 11:10 PM, offering the public a front-row seat to a milestone celebration of the “ironclad” friendship between Islamabad and Beijing.

A vibrant showcase of shared heritage

The cultural extravaganza promises an immersive display of artistic performances, traditional music, and diverse heritage stalls highlighting the culinary and social traditions of both countries.

Designed to further strengthen people-to-people connections and cultural diplomacy, the gala forms a core part of the broader bilateral celebrations marking the landmark anniversary of ties, which were formally established in May 1951.

Organisers emphasized that such events play a crucial role in passing the legacy of this unique friendship down to younger generations.

Senior dignitaries reinforce strategic partnership

The ceremony was addressed by several high-profile figures from both nations, underscoring the immense strategic weight attached to the relationship.

The Pakistani government was represented by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, alongside the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar.

They were joined by Federal Secretary Information Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil and China’s Deputy Head of Mission, Shi Yuanqiang, with all speakers reaffirming their commitment to continued socio-economic cooperation and an enduring strategic partnership.
