PML-N parliamentary board meets on Gilgit-Baltistan elections

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the PML-N parliamentary board on the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan general elections was held under the chairmanship of Nawaz Sharif.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz received Nawaz Sharif on his arrival.

The parliamentary board will finalise candidates for the Gilgit-Baltistan elections. Senior leaders including Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif, Saad Rafique, and the party’s Gilgit-Baltistan president also attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Assembly has passed a resolution by majority vote, commending the public welfare initiatives of CM Maryam.

The resolution says that the CM launched hundreds of welfare projects soon after assuming office. It adds that the Virtual Women Police Station and Child Safety Center are actively functioning under the supervision of the Additional Inspector General.

According to the text, the impact of these initiatives is being acknowledged even at the United Nations level.
