LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League XI trophy was officially unveiled ahead of the final, with Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam and Hyderabad Kingsmen skipper Marnus Labuschagne taking part in the ceremony. Both captains also posed for a photoshoot with the trophy, marking the buildup to the high-stakes final.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Marnus Labuschagne said his side will stick to their game plan in the final and stressed the importance of confidence and self-belief.
The HK skipper noted that the tournament has been a learning experience, crediting the management’s support and the team’s improvement throughout the competition.
Labuschagne also described the PSL as a special tournament, saying his side overcame several challenges to reach the final.
On the other side, Babar Azam said every match comes with pressure but emphasized that his team focuses on playing quality cricket.
The in-form skipper expressed happiness at reaching the final and playing in front of fans in the stadium. Babar said conditions in Karachi and Lahore differ, and adapting accordingly has been key throughout the tournament.
He added that Zalmi have reached the final by following their consistent game plan and now aim to finish the job by winning the trophy.
He also reminded of the importance of the young players who are learning to handle pressure at the highest level, while reaffirming his commitment to his established playing approach.
With both captains expressing confidence and belief, the stage is set for an intense PSL final between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen.
