ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan on Monday tendered an unconditional apology to journalists in the Senate and National Assembly for the “disparaging” remarks made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur at a public rally in Sangjani, Islamabad, the other day.
During a Senate session, journalists protested Gandapur’s unbecoming remarks. In response, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan approached the journalists, and clarified that Gandapur’s comments about “selling the pen” were directed only at a few journalists. “We have great respect for you, and if anyone was hurt, we sincerely apologize,” he said.

Barrister Gohar also explained that the chief minister’s speech was not intended to target journalists, stating that PTI has no intention of creating chaos in the country. He added that the speeches delivered by PTI leaders at the rally were political, and the public’s primary concern is the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Journalists also staged a strong protest in the National Assembly against Gandapur’s remarks. Subsequently, PTI leader Omar Ayub requested the journalists to accept their apology on behalf of Gandapur and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
