Seven senators elected unopposed from Punjab

LAHORE: Seven senators including interior minister Mohsin Naqvi have been elected unopposed from Punjab.
Additionally, Hamid Khan of the Sunni Ittehad Council, MWM leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, PML-N’s Pervaiz Rashid, Nasir Butt Talal Chaudhry and Ahad Cheema have been elected unopposed.
March 27 was the final day for withdrawing nomination papers in Punjab, with Mustafa Ramday withdrawing his papers for the technocrat seat.

For the Senate’s general seat, Shehzad Waseem, Waleed Iqbal, Umar Sarfraz Cheema and Ejaz Minhas also withdrew their papers.
Polling for the Senate’s vacant seats will take place at Parliament House on April 2, 2024.
