MANCHESTER: Sir Alex Ferguson was taken to hospital ahead of the Manchester United vs Liverpool match after he reportedly felt unwell before the game.

The 84-year-old former Manchester United manager, who is a regular at Old Trafford, was present around the stadium on Sunday when he suddenly felt unwell. As a precaution, he was taken for medical attention.

No specific illness has been officially disclosed, but the situation is being treated as a preventive check-up due to his sudden discomfort.

Earlier in the day, he had also been seen at the stadium and even appeared in a social media post with Dr Aseem Malhotra. However, shortly after, concerns over his condition led to him being taken to hospital.

Ferguson, who managed Manchester United from 1986 to 2013 and is regarded as one of football’s greatest managers, has previously faced health issues, including emergency brain surgery in 2018. He made a strong recovery and returned to Old Trafford later that year.

In short, he was taken to hospital simply because he felt unwell before the match, and medical staff decided it was safer to get him checked immediately.
