OJ Simpson case: Alleged confession surfaces

Reports suggest a recording may exist of OJ Simpson allegedly confessing to the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

WEB DESK: New reports into the infamous OJ Simpson case suggests that a recording may exist in which the former American football player allegedly confesses to the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

The revelation comes as authorities in Minnesota, United States (US) claim to have obtained a thumb drive that apparently contains the confession.

The thumb drive was reportedly seized from Iroc Avelli, a former bodyguard of OJ Simpson, during a separate investigation.

According to the law enforcement authorities, the drive may include the Simpson implicating an unidentified third party in the murders.

Avelli was arrested in March 2022, and during the search of his belongings, the police discovered a green bag containing multiple thumb drives, along with other items including live ammunition.

Two months after Simpson’s death this year, the local police department received information from a detective in Los Angeles regarding the thumb drive’s potential contents.

To access the thumb drive, the law enforcers obtained a new search warrant. However, the results of any analysis of the drive’s contents are still pending.

The thumb drive is currently involved in ongoing litigation, as Avelli and his attorney are suing for the return of his seized property. A judge recently denied a motion to return the items.

OJ Simpson was charged with the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994 but was acquitted in what became known as the “Trial of the Century”.

He was later found liable for their deaths in a civil lawsuit.

The former American footballer’s longtime lawyer, Malcolm LaVergne, indicated that he believed the Los Angeles police department considered the murder case closed.

He implied that the city’s law enforcement authorities have not actively pursued other suspects since the conclusion of the criminal trial in 1995.

LaVergne is currently seeking to obtain various pieces of evidence for potential auctioning to cover Simpson’s debts, with the thumb drive potentially representing important evidence in the ongoing sage.
